The Sweeney Story

In 1986, Bob Sweeney started digging. He excavated residential lots for home builders and quickly earned a reputation for quality, professionalism, and unrivaled positivity. Today, Bob’s company has grown beyond his wildest dreams. With more than 70 employees, 38 pieces of heavy equipment, and an entire concrete division, Sweeney has what it takes to transform any jobsite in the state of Connecticut.

Bob Sweeney

President

Bob founded the company in 1986 with the purchase of backhoe to level areas for swimming pool construction. This quickly developed into the company providing general excavation services to residential homebuilders.  He has spent the last 36 years building the company to one that is recognized as the premier provider of commercial services for site development with an emphasis on customer satisfaction, quality and professionalism. Sweeney now not only provides excavation, demolition,  and concrete foundation construction, but has also incorporated specialty services such as paving and soil augmentation. With a focus on continuous improvement, Bob incorporates the use of technology to improve efficiency in all aspects of the business. From layout to machine control, project information and digital plans in the hands of every Superintendent, Sweeney is consistently striving to find new ways to improve operations.
